JOB DESCRIPTIONS
Employees are hired as Residential Care Workers (RCW) to work at all of the ILHS sites. Residential Care Workers must be able to assist with self-directed tenants as well as provide care to clients with more complex health needs. Employees may be hired for a specific site or as casual on-call relief staff. There are also two Day Planner positions; the incumbents act as activity coordinators for two of the Licensed homes. Additionally, one of the Licensed homes has two Behavior Intervention Worker positions; the incumbents fulfill personal care requirements of the clients as well as providing specialized support for specific emotional and behavioral challenges.
JOB SUMMARY for RESIDENTIAL CARE WORKER
Under the direction of the Supervisor, the Residential Care Worker is responsible for supporting individuals with cognitive and/or physical challenges in a community-based independent living environment. Residential Care Workers are responsible for maintaining and promoting the well-being, uniqueness and independence of each client. This may include but is not limited to physical care, menu planning and meal preparation, medication administration, day-to-day house management and documentation.
The Residential Care Worker supports the clients by promoting their involvement with family, friends, advocates and other stakeholders. The Residential Care Worker also encourages the clients to develop individual skills, talents and abilities while maintaining their health and safety requirements.

JOB SUMMARY for BEHAVIOR INTERVENTION WORKER
Under the direction of the Supervisor, the Behavior Intervention Worker is responsible for providing care and support in a group home environment that includes clients with emotional and behavioral challenges in addition to physical and cognitive support needs. The Behavior Intervention Worker is responsible for providing crisis intervention, behavior management, social and life skills training and role modeling, on a one-to-one basis and in a group setting, as well as participating in meeting the physical care requirements of the clients.

JOB SUMMARY for DAY PLANNER
Under the direction of the Supervisor, the Day Planner is responsible for planning and implementing an in-house and community activity access program that fulfills and enriches the social, intellectual, cultural, spiritual, physical, educational and emotional needs of the clients.
